Rosenwald, Aviva Kempner’s RPF-funded documentary on businessman and philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, has screened at hundreds of film festivals, community events, and even the White House. Now the filmmaker is working with the educational non-profit Teaching for Change to develop a teaching guide to tell this story of the man who helped support the building of over 5,000 schools for African American children during the Jim Crow years. The guide will comprise the film, re-edited into lesson-specific segments; DVD extras on historic events such as the Chicago Riots; and related, educator-ready curriculum.
