The #MeToo Movement has made it clear that the Jewish community is subject to the same problematic power dynamics that exist in other communities. Born of this realization, the Safety Respect Equity Coalition (SRE) works to create equitable Jewish workplaces and communal spaces by addressing sexual harassment, sexism, and gender discrimination. It brings together more than 100 organizations, funders, individuals and experts to financially support projects that tackle this issue; produce and distribute resources for people who have experienced harassment; provide guidance to organizations looking to strengthen their workplace culture; and institutionalize standards to prevent and address gender discrimination and sexual harassment in Jewish workplaces.
