    In the wake of increased division and vitriol in our country, RPF partnered with StoryCorps to launch an effort to inspire empathy and remind us of our common humanity. The campaign—called #WhoWeAre—launched in the fall of 2016 with excerpts from 12 interviews that are part of StoryCorps’ collection of more than 60,000 real life American stories. Each excerpt was animated and then distributed by Upworthy; together they garnered more than 30 million views. In addition, Google featured #WhoWeAre on its homepage, leading one viewer to comment, “Well-thought-out words infused with sincerity and understanding can change people one at a time, which is how we change the world.”
