    2024

  • Amount

    $100,000

  • Description

Since 2018, funding from RPF has made it possible
for the Religious Action Center (RAC), the organizing
arm of the Jewish Reform movement, to train rabbis
to speak out on the justice issues of our day. With the
current threats to immigrants, reproductive rights, and democratic
norms—issues that resonate deeply with the Jewish
    community—sustained investment in the rabbis’
moral leadership remains critical. Responding to this
need, the RAC (which represents nearly 1,000
congregations across North America) will program
issue-specific workshops and peer groups to inform
and inspire clergy-led campaigns, sermon writing,
and coalition work. All of this will be undertaken with
the simultaneous goal of helping clergy—many of
whom have felt isolated from the progressive
    movement since October 7—repair fractured
relationships and develop the language and
confidence needed to remain in social justice spaces
while fighting for a pluralistic, progressive democracy
    in Israel.
