As a collaborative fund and field-building initiative, CANVAS is dedicated to supporting and strengthening the field of Jewish arts and culture. Through grants, leadership development, and capacity-building resources, the initiative provides targeted support for an array of Jewish artists and arts organizations, engages and educates funders, and promotes Jewish arts projects to ever-widening audiences. The initiative, which was designed in response to research commissioned by RPF and other funders, has made significant headway in its first four years. CANVAS’ leaders are now setting the stage for its next chapter, which will include increasing its annual grantmaking budget and expanding its role as a convener for the field.
